February 29, 2008 (Venily is 4 months, 2 weeks, 2 days old)

I went to get Venily out of her crib this morning and she was completely turned sideways!! She must have been busy during the night, lol. And yesterday I had her on her stomach and she pushed up on all fours!!! Oh no! She was also trying to scooch around with her arms and go after her toys! I'm so not ready for this...

February 28, 2008 (Venily is 4 months, 2 weeks, 1 day old)

Venily had a great time at the Aquatic Center yesterday! I'm relieved and thinking she's going to have an even better time at the Dells! She was so relaxed in the water, she almost fell asleep, haha.

I bought her a bunch of different baby foods today at the store. I'm really excited!

I'd be lying if I said I thought I'd get her site updated anytime soon. We are busy! :) But maybe...

February 25, 2008 (Venily is 4 months, 1 week, 5 days old)



Venily ate CARROTS today and LOVED them!!!!! :)

Aunt Jacki made her some home-made carrot baby food yesterday. I wasn't planning on giving her any today, but she ate ALL her oatmeal this morning and then I was eating yogurt today and she was staring at me like crazy and drooling and opening and closing her mouth, LOL!! I was only going to give her a bite of the carrots to see what she would do and she ate them right up. But when I went to put them away she got mad, lol, so I had to give her more! She gobbled them up like a little monster! I can't wait to see what else she likes! :)

February 24, 2008 (Venily is 4 months, 1 week, 4 days old)

Jason has been working and/or busy the last several days and Venily and I have gotten down to a WONDERFUL routine!! I'm so happy! Of course we miss Daddy and we've been SOOOO fortunate to be able to spend all day of Venily's first 4 months together as a family, but with him here we're always busy doing something. Now Venily and I get to spend time together alone and I love it! And now that she's older, she is able to play by herself for periods of time so I can take a shower, eat, clean, etc. She's also taking AWESOME naps all by herself lately. I just lay her down with a toy when she starts looking a little sleepy and she'll talk and play with it for a little bit and the next time I look over at her, she's out! All of my laundry is done, my dishes are done, beds are made, floor vacuumed, etc!! Haha, you'd think I'd be able to get more done WITH Jason here, but that is not the case! I just CAN NOT wait until it gets nicer out and we can add long walks and trips to the park to our day! Oh I can't wait, I need Spring very badly!!!

Venily did GREAT at her pictures on Friday! We had to wait for like an hour because they were behind and she slept the whole time. When we got her out she was so happy and smiley. Next time I'm going to get some prop pictures done.... I'll have to think about what I want.... like bathtub pictures or something cute! We got these pictures online again, so when I get them in a couple of days, I'll be sure to put them up! We got one pose for her package and they also gave us 2 free sheets of 2 other poses because we had to wait so long.

My poor dear inherited a very unfortunate trait from her mom and dad!! All of her sleeves and pants are too short on her (even on some of her 6m clothes). LOL. I have no doubt that she's going to be taller than me! Oh, and her cereal eating is going EXTREMELY well. I'm pretty sure it's the highlight of her day! She's a little eating monster. She can't get enough and any time I'm eating around her she's always trying to grab at what I'm eating. She wants real food so badly! Haha, she sure likes to make a mess though!

February 20, 2008 (Venily is 4 months, 1 week old)

Venily tried oatmeal today and LOVED it!! She was grabbing onto the spoon and pulling it to her mouth she loved it so much, lol! She likes to make quite the mess too, putting her hands in her mouth at the same time.... I have to find a way to restrain her! After a few days of oatmeal, she'll be onto mixed grains and then real baby food!!!

She has been in SUCH a great mood today and yesterday! Her teething is getting better for now. She's biting like crazy still, but it doesn't seem to be hurting her like it was, which is great. BUT...no teeth are poking through yet, so I'm sure it'll be bad again soon. I just really enjoy having my happy little baby back for now. She was seriously so unbelievably happy all day today, it was just precious! She played in her crib for an hour this morning just talking and laughing to herself and was like that ALL day. She even took some really good, long naps today all by herself w/ no fussing and I didn't even have to hold her! She was just so content.

She has a picture appointment on Friday for her 4 month pics at JCPenny again and I'll be able to pick up her 3 month ones too. We're also probably going to Chuck E. Cheese again after her pictures. This will be Venily's 2nd time there, but hopefully this time she'll be able to be awake and actually have fun looking around. :) Next week we want to take her to the Aquatic Center to see how she'll like the water before we go to the Dells next month. We bought her a tube and want to try it out. My fingers are crossed that she likes it... she still HATES taking baths.

I'm hoping tomorrow to start updating her site. I also have a bunch more pictures to put up. I really need to stop taking so many, but I can't help it!!

February 17, 2008 (Venily is 4 months, 4 days old)

Venily rolled over from her stomach to her back yesterday while at Aunt Jacki and Uncle Jake's house! And she did it for me again today!! Yay!! She actually doesn't seem to mind laying down so much any more as long as there is stuff for her to look at. She's really close to rolling from her back to her stomach too, but still can't get over her arm!

February 15, 2008 (Venily is 4 months, 2 days old)

Sorry, I've been soooo busy! And Venily has been quite the crabby patty lately, haha! She is teething so bad, it makes me really sad. Why can't babies be born with slots for thier teeth to come through?! It's just not fair! She did like her rice cereal the other day though. I have to wait until she is not super hungry otherwise it doesn't come fast enough and she gets mad. It's so cute to watch her eat it!



We didn't do much for Valentine's Day. We're not too crazy about the holiday. Jason and I spent the whole day fixing up our house, cleaning, and painting the bathroom, and parts of the living room, kitchen and our bedroom. We got a lot done! Venily just hung out with her Grandma.

Can you believe it!? On this day last year we found out we were pregnant!!!! Time is just flying by!

February 13, 2008 (Venily is 4 months old)




Venily is 4 months old today!!!! I can't believe it! AND she slept for 10.5 straight hours again last night!! I'm thinking it has to be the crib! Hopefully she continues sleeping through the night now, though I don't mind getting up with her at all.

I'll be trying rice cereal w/ her a little later today. We've also let her have a lick of banana and lemon this last week and she LOVED them! She tried to take a big bite out of the banana, LOL. I have a feeling that she's going to be a very good eater. I washed all of her bowls, plates, spoons, and sippy cups this morning. I didn't think I'd be this excited about her getting to eat food, but I really am! :)

AT 4 MONTHS...

Venily's LIKES:
* Her SAUCER!!!! She loves it!! It's so nice to have somewhere to put her down that keeps her entertained while I take a shower, make dinner, eat, etc.!
* She especially likes her elephant and lion on her saucer...those are her new favorite toy friends because she can get them in her mouth!
* Biting EVERYTHING she can get her hands on! :)
* Being tickled, but only for short periods of a time.
* Smiling and laughing at silly things.
* New tastes.
* Conan O'Brien! HAHA! We tape it on our DVR every night and watch it every morning and Venily loves him! :)

Venily DISLIKES:
* Laying down! She likes to sit or stand. It's going to be hard to get her to roll over and/or crawl b/c she doesn't like to lay on the floor on her stomach or back.
* Not being able to get something in her mouth. Haha. If she can't get a toy in her mouth, she gets VERY frustrated and will just stick her whole hand in her mouth instead!
* Hats! I hope she starts liking them, because she's got a TON of cute hats for the summer that I can't wait to see her wear.
* Being tired and getting put to bed.

February 12, 2008 (Venily 3 months, 4 weeks, 2 days old)



Guess what?! Venily slept in her big girl crib last night for the first time and slept ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! Yay! Over 10 hours straight! I'm very happy, hopefully she keeps that up. She hasn't been sleeping that well during the day because she is teething so badly. It is hard to get her down and then you have to be VERY quiet, lol! Or a car ride always works too!

She had her 4 month check up today and looks great! She was 15 pounds, 4 ounces and was 25 1/2 inches long (though Jason and I think she's actually longer b/c the nurse didn't really stretch her out b/c she was mad and crying). He was impressed with her weight. He said some babies double their birth weight by 6 months, but she has already doubled it by 4! Haha, yep, she's a chunk! We talked to the doctor about her spitting up all the time and he checked her stomach for any blockages and stuff and it looks good, so guess we'll just have to wait it out! He also gave us the go-ahead to start her on rice cereal as soon as we want to! I'm going to try tomorrow when she's in a good mood. :) I bought her a booster seat and sat her in it yesterday and I HATE it. Lol, I was going back and forth between that and a high chair for a while and finally bought the booster seat, but now I think I'm going to return it and get a real high chair. Venily did well with her shots, we don't think it was as bad as last time, but it was still really sad. She cried for a little bit, but calmed down pretty quickly.

Jason is trying to put her to bed right now, but she is FUSSY. Don't know if it has more to do with the shots or her teething............. and now I'm feeding her and she is better. She is so sad right now, it's breaking our hearts. I just gave her nighttime orajel and she has another hour left before she can take more Tylenol. :( Awwwww, I hate seeing her in pain!!

I don't think I'll be updating her site this week b/c our house is getting appraised on Friday so we have a lot of painting and things to do before then! But maybe next week, haha. Okay, Venily is sleeping now and I've got to try to set her in her crib, wish me luck! ;)

February 9, 2008 (Venily 3 months, 3 weeks, 6 days old)

We have been so busy, sorry I can't update more! I have a few minutes now so I added some more pictures! I'd like to update my site some time next week so it might be down for a while, but we will see if I can ever get to it!

Jason and I had our first date by ourselves since Venily was born last week! We went out to eat and went shopping and Venily's grandma watched her and she was a good little girl again! It was so weird to be by ourselves, lol!

We went to the Milwaukee Public Museum yesterday and Venily actually had a lot of fun! She woke up when we got there and was able to look around at everything while we walked around, it was really cute! There were lots of things for her to see! She's getting really good with a bottle now too, so we can bring one with when we go out. I usually just bring my pump w/ in the car and use it while we drive and she has a bottle ready for wherever we go, lol, it works out nicely! Well, I'm out of time! Next week Venily has her dr. appt, shots, turns 4 months, and can start rice cereal!!! Ahhhh, so crazy!!

February 4, 2008 (Venily 3 months, 3 weeks, 1 day old)

This was so cute! Venily has been CRACKING up lately when she sees Xoey doing things, it's really funny! So I took a video. She was laughing even harder before I took it, but it's still funny. She's getting sooo big! I find myself frequently referring to "when she was a baby." HAHA! She's such a big girl now and is getting such a cute little personality. Right now she's definitely a silly, laid-back girl who loves to laugh and hates being tired! I can't wait to see more and more of her personality come through.



I bought her a swimsuit today for when we go to the Dells next month! I bought a 9 months one (the smallest I could find) so I'm hoping it will fit and still fit through the summer. I really hope she likes the water b/c that will be really fun if she does!

Next Tuesday Venily has her 4 month check up and shots! Ahh, I wish I could take them for her!

February 2, 2008 (Venily 3 months, 2 weeks, 6 days old)

Venily is 16 weeks old!! I can't believe it! I have a little bit of time right now... Venily is laying on the couch contently talking and chewing on her hands and looks a little sleepy, lol... with any luck I'll be able to write this while my baby naps...

I can't believe I was pregnant this time last year without knowing it! It's so crazy how so many things can change in a year. Venily is... AMAZING!!!! She's just the most perfect, wonderful little girl ever and we are so lucky to have her in our lives. I feel like I was born to be her mother! I LOVE being her mom and nothing else even compares to how happy she makes me! Her little face and her little smile and her little voice, oh my gosh!!! I don't know how she does it, but she gets cuter and cuter each day! Jason is so in love with her too! He says that he never thought that he really liked babies until we had her. Every single day he talks about how cute she is and how big she is getting (we see her every day and it's still a shock each morning to see how much bigger she is than the day before!)! We were looking at baby stuff the other day at the store and we couldn't even believe some of the babies on the packaging, hahaha! Venily was so much cuter than ALL of them, lol, her little face so should have been on every single thing in that store! :) I know most parents think their baby is the cutest, but I'm pretty sure we have them all beat! :) {And now she is up and sitting in my lap- guess she changed her mind about the nap}

Well, I am going to play with my baby- she is only going to be this little for one more day! Maybe I'll get a chance to write more later... she keeps me quite busy!
