Just for me!

I failed miserably at my New Year's resolutions last year, so this year, I'm making it simple!  Just one, quantifiable resolution that is all about me!  I set the bar kind of low, and I may have to readjust it.

*I will read AT LEAST 100 books this year.  And, no, this does not count children's book, lol!

~So far this year, I am finishing up my 9th book and January is not over yet! :)  I'm hoping my library can keep up with me.  I've been putting lots of books on hold and sometimes have to wait a few weeks before a book will be shipped from their SHARE system.  I am currently reading 2 different series of books.  One is okay (by an author I like, but not my favorite series from her) and the other series is AMAZING (I'm seriously in love, but I wish I had the money to buy the books b/c they take so long to finally get in!).

I'd like to add a few more resolutions, but so far I'm sticking to just the one!

New Year Resolutions

Last Year I wrote a New Year Update (see here) and had the following resolutions:

-nailed this one :) I consider myself an awesome mom, it's my JOB after all and I always put 110% into everything that I do!! I take it very seriously! ♥

-yep, no problems with this one either, I was able to check this one off my list after the 1st of the year! :)

-I definitely tried and will continue to do so!

-And by that, I meant GET organized because we had just moved into our new house after having everything in boxes for 8 months! I am VERY happy with how far we have come from January 2009 to January 2010!!!! I can't even tell you how many HOURS I have spent going through boxes and organizing and reorganizing things! My new Xmas present has helped out tremendously with our bedrooms now as well! I still have more to do though!

-I didn't exercise DAILY, but I did a pretty good job, especially while being pregnant 75% of 2009! I had my weekly yoga class, I walked a lot, and started a routine with Exercise TV that I stopped only because I severely injured my neck for a month (it was so bad, I'd cry daily and was very close to going to the emergency room a couple of times!) and it is only now better, but I plan to start my routine back up now!

This year's resolutions are very similar!
  • Continue to be the best Mommy ever! :) I would like to ESPECIALLY work on my temper as we enter the "Trying Two's" and all the sassiness that comes with it (a post for another time, lol!). And I want to make a continued effort to spend 0ne-on-one time with Venily doing various learning activities and arts & crafts projects!
  • Seriously research and get everything in order to prepare for an adoption and/or convince Jason to go for "one more"! :)
  • Relax more! Don't know when I'll have the time, but I will try! :)
  • Finish up the rest of my organization! This includes a few boxes I have to go through, doing something about my TREMENDOUS picture problem, and FINALLY doing the scrapbooks that I have all the materials for, but have yet to even start!!
  • Finally get pictures up on my walls! Someday...
  • Exercise daily! I'll definitely keep doing exercise TV, and I really want to go hiking a lot with the girls when it gets nicer out! And depending on how Haven does, I'd like to go back to my yoga class- it'll be nice to do some of the positions I never could while pregnant!

I hope it goes well!
Good luck to everyone else with their resolutions!

2009!!!

What an AMAZING year!!

We started off the year in our new house with a goal of conceiving our 2nd child! What an absolute shock and utter blessing it was to see a positive test just 18 days after starting the new year! We were off to a great start in ensuring 2009 to be a good one! :) Look how little Venily was at the start of the year!!! She turned 15 months in the middle of January... the next couple of months were a blur of morning sickness and trying to make it through each day! I remember that May 1st (my ultrasound) seemed FOREVER away! And being so incredibly ecstatic that I was having another girl! We potty trained Venily in June and couldn't believe how easy she made it for us! In July, Jason and I celebrated our "8 years of being together" anniversary and our 3 Year Wedding Anniversary! In August Jacki and Jake got married in a WONDERFUL ceremony and reception!! September I waited very impatiently as week after week Haven decided to keep her cute little butt inside! And we were so blessed when she finally made her presence on September 26th at a shocking 9 pounds and 9 ounces and 21.5 inches long! :) She has been such a joy to have in our family, we love her so much! October was Venily's 2nd birthday and Haven turned 1 month!! We were then able to experience Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas as a family of 4 and it was fantastic!!

I don't know how 2010 could possibly be as great as 2009, but I think that every year and am always proven wrong! My heart hurts knowing how fast my girls are going to grow up by this time next year!!! I'm excited for Haven to be eating real food, crawling, walking, and talking and for Venily to continue to grow and learn new things every day! Maybe preschool? Maybe a dance class or gymnastic class if I can break her away from her shyness? I can't wait!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Resolutions coming tomorrow! :)
