This made me sad...

I brought the girls to storytime today at the library and I sat next to another mom.  She had 10m old twin girls and a 3 year old boy.  She pointed to Haven and asked "How old is she?  Is she 3 or is she 4?"  I probably looked at her like I didn't understand English and was like "Her?!" (touching Haven).  And she's like "Yeah."  I'm like "Ummm.... she's 1 and she'll be 2 at the end of this month."   And she said "No way!!!  She is so tall and seems so much older!!"  (to her credit though, Haven was taller than her 3 year old son, LOL!! And spoke better)  Oh Haven, what am I going to do with you.... you are breaking my heart!!

I thought it was odd when we brought Venily in for registration that everyone kept asking if Haven was going to school (the youngest children that go to that school are supposed to be 4!).  I just figured that these people must not have children or have any concept of how old children are (some people are like that)!  But this woman HAD children!!!  I was seriously getting teary-eyed thinking about it while driving home from the library (and even now, lol).  Kids grow up sooooo fast and she is just determined to speed up the process and make it even harder on me! :(

August Resolution Review!

Resolution #1- Read 100 books this year.  So far I've read:

January- 11 books
February- 5 books
March- 10 books
April- 8 books
May- 11 books
June- 9 books
July- 5 books
August-  6 books

TOTAL: _66_ books (should have 66 2/3 read at this point!)

Status:  Starting to fall behind!!  The girls' birthday party planning and my new "business" of drawing are taking up any bit of free time I have!  I will be really sad if I don't make it to 100 when I've been doing so well all year long!

This month I read the first 2 in the Uglies series by Scott Westerfield (and I have the others waiting to be read).  So far, I like them.  I also read the first 2 in the Dark Hunter series (and again, have more waiting to be read, lol).  So far I like them as well, however, I'm really hoping the series connects more from book to book b/c I don't really care for book series that don't!  I also read 2 nonfiction books this month (which also probably contributed to a  low # of books this month, lol).  I read Arthritis: Your Questions Answered which was SUPER informative and I'm really glad I read it (though scary b/c basically I found out that there is not a whole lot I can do and that it's just going to continue to get worse and worse :(  ).  I also read How to Draw Lifelike Portraits from Photographs by Lee Hammond (and checked out several other similar books) and even though it was all stuff I already knew and have figured out on my own, I DID learn a lot of stuff about materials that I never thought of and have helped me so far!

Resolution #2- Work out at least 30 minutes 2x per week.

STATUS: Officially over, though it was good while it lasted!  Jason is currently obsessed with working out and there can only be enough room in our family for one! :)

Resolution #3- I WILL donate blood this year.

STATUS:  Completed 2/17.  AND again 8/30!!!  Super glad I got to do it again!!  No pain at all afterward this time either, just some lightheadness.  Am hoping to do it one more time before the end of the year- I need to wait 8 weeks before I'm eligible again though.  I think I will have a yearly goal of donating at least 3 times per year for the rest of my life! :)  It is something I really feel good about and I feel like it gives me good karma!

(thanks for taking the pic Alisha, lol! Me and Amanda getting our blood taken! :)  )

Resolution #4- Get boudoir pictures taken of myself.

STATUS:  Still waiting.  I've promised myself I WILL get it done though! ;)

*********************************************

Resolution #5- Drink more water

STATUS:  Doing pretty good.

*********************************************

RESOLUTION #6: Plan out a summer home-schooling curriculum for Venily and stick to it!
STATUS: N/A anymore.  But I would like to start a preschool activity hour or so each day with Haven and Kylee!  Also, I need to start researching preschools for Haven to go to next year!  Ahhhh!  Is that really possible?!

RESOLUTION #7:  Paint a picture of my girls to hang up in my house.  (This is something that I've wanted to do for a very long time and I know will be very time demanding, but it's something I really want to do!)

STATUS:  No painting yet, but I've been very busy with doing drawings.  I have started a business and have a facebook page for my business, a website, an email address, business cards, etc.  It's pretty legit, lol!  I'm proud of myself, even if it never earns me a ton of money.  It is something I really like doing!

HERE is my facebook page!

HERE is my website! (still working on it though!)

I'm still kind of embarrassed about the whole thing, lol.  Oh, well!  I'm getting better at not being so critical of myself and letting people see things I'm working on before they are finished... so it's a start!

Venily's 1st Day of 4K!!!!!

Venily's 1st day went awesome!!!  She insisted on wearing her horse dress.  Because of the dress code, I had to put a shirt underneath it.  She looked a little dorky, but super cute anyway! :)  She begged me all morning long to bring her to school already (she's in the afternoon class).  Lol.  I was nervous for her, even though I knew she'd do great!  We dropped her off at school and she was so excited that she was jumping up and down while walking into the school!
As soon as we got to her room, she calmed down a lot and was a little in shock with all the newness, but she couldn't have cared less when I left!
As soon as we left the room, Haven sadly said "Venily?", lol!  I was really surprised when one of the other parents asked us if Venily was 4 or 5.  I just figured all the kids were 4, but I guess some are 5 too!  His son is 5.  I felt kind of bad saying that Venily is still 3 and will be 4 in the middle of October!

I brought the little girls home and they went right down for their naps.  It was FANTASTIC to have nap time free of kids again, lol!  I got so much done!  However, I thought about Venily the whole time!  I even started looking out the window for the bus BEFORE school even got out, lol.  When Haven woke up from her nap the first thing she asked was "Mommy, where did Venily go?"  :)  Venily didn't end up getting off the bus until 4:20pm!!  That's over an hour after school gets let out (it always takes longer the first couple of days of school)!!

It's also 90-some degrees out today and super humid and Venily was a sweaty mess from being on the bus for an hour!
But she was so excited to tell us all about school!  She had lots of fun, made tons of new friends, and can't wait to go back to school tomorrow!  I am so excited and happy for her!  She loves her teachers too!!! :)  She was soooooo hyper when she got home!  Then I asked her if she wanted to go grocery shopping with me and she crashed hardcore in the car.  I could barely get her to walk once we got there, haha. ♥
