January 30, 2008 (Venily 3 months, 2 weeks, 3 days old)
I got Venily's 3 month pics online today! Yay!! I will definitely be going to JCPenny from now on for Venily's monthly pictures. She wasn't even in a picture taking mood and they still turned out so cute! And there are so many to choose from, I love it! You only get one at Walmart... and no words written through them when you get them online!
We have been VERY busy the last few days! I will have to update more when I get the chance, just wanted to put her pics on.
Stay healthy everyone (and get better)!! We are getting over being sick... Venily hasn't really gotten anything yet and we definitely have our fingers crossed that she doesn't get it because EVERYONE is so sick right now!

January 24, 2008 (Venily 3 months, 1 week, 4 days old)
Well, we finally got Venily's 3 month pics taken! After no luck last week, we drove all the way out to Delavan again on Tuesday to get them taken at the Walmart again. The lady said we didn't need an appointment, but when we got there, no one was there. We waited for over an hour before we finally went home! So, we decided to go to JCPenny yesterday and it was SOOO much nicer and not bad on pricing either (though I spent more than I wanted to b/c I just can't resist pictures of my princess, lol!). Venily was super happy when she woke up, but we had to wait for about 20 minutes and by the time we got her pictures she was ready to eat and go home, but she still took a lot of really cute pictures! We got a cute one for her portrait package and then we bought another sheet of one where she has a sad face, haha, it's funny! We also paid to get them all put online, so hopefully I'll be able to put them up on here when they send them to me (though they'll have the SAMPLE thing through them).
I bought Venily some rice cereal a couple of days ago because I think she's ready to try it. But, I looked in all of my books and they all say DO NOT feed babies cereal before they are 4 months, so I'm going to wait!
Venily is getting so good at grabbing toys! She does it all the time now! She's got a hold of her puppy friend right now and is talking to him! :)
We might be moving very soon!! Ahh! Not sure if everything is going to go through yet, but I think the new place will be a lot better for Venily to learn how to crawl, etc. in for the next few months until we can build a house (with no fear of scalding herself on our fireplace!). I'm nervous and a little excited about it... we'll see what happens. There are some really annoying neighbors there though, so that might suck... haha, just kidding!!!! It would be really fun!

January 19, 2008 (Venily 3 months, 6 days old)
Venily is 14 weeks old today and I survived my first outing without her yesterday!! I was less than a mile away and it was only for 2 hours, but I was still nervous about it, lol! Thank you Grandma, Grandpa, Uncle Matt and Kaitlyn, Venily said she had a great time! We went and saw Juno at the Burlington theatre (I haven't been to the movies since before Venily was born!) and I really liked the movie so that was nice! It was definitely the best movie I've seen in a LONG time (we usually end up renting the stupidest movies you could ever imagine :) )!! And Grandma said Venily was a good little girl! She even got her to drink from a bottle which she hasn't done since we first tried when she was 6 weeks- thanks Grandma!! After they left she still had an ounce left in her bottle and I figured I might as well give it a try (we haven't tried in a really long time) and she drank it for me too! Yay- maybe Jason and I can get out a little more often.... if I could handle it, LOL.
I think Venily is going to be ready to start eating some real food now too! She'll be 4 months in a few weeks and I'll start her on rice cereal. She looks at us now when we eat and she'll open and close her mouth, so I know she's interested! :) Her teething is starting to get a little better, there were a few days when it was REALLY bothering her. Now she is still biting on her (or our) hands like crazy and I'll give her some Orajel every once in a while and she's pretty good, but the fussiness is WAY down, so that's good! I still can't see any teeth yet, but her gums feel hard and kind of sharp so I'm hoping this isn't going to be a super long and drawn out process!
Other than that, Venily is still doing really good. She's starting to mimic us a little now with sticking out our tongue at her and blowing with our lips, it's really cute! She's still sleeping pretty good. She doesn't like to be put down during her naps during the day now that she's teething... but she'll sleep forever if you just hold her or if she's in her carseat. Jason is officially the one that puts her to sleep. He has a special hold that he does that puts her right out!

January 13, 2008 (Venily 3 months old)
VENILY IS 3 MONTHS OLD!!!! I can't even keep up with all the ways that she is changing any more. Each and every day she is getting bigger and learning new things! I weighed and measured her this morning and she was 24 inches and about 15 pounds! She's such a big girl, she's hardly even a baby any more! I, on the other hand, have lost another 4 pounds, so I am down to 6 pounds less than my pre-pregnancy weight! I bought pants last week and had to buy a size 1 and a size 2. I don't know what to do... I want to start working out too, but probably not until I gain some more weight first if I can.
Venily has been drooling a lot lately and biting on her hands, fingers, and thumb like crazy. I really think she is teething, but I'm really hoping she's not! I've been brushing her gums every night now with her baby gum and tooth cleanser stuff and she loves it! It's strawberry- banana flavored and since I haven't give her any real food yet, it's fun to see her try it!
We've gotten a few routines down for the morning and before bed, so it's nice. But during the day, we just do what Venily wants to do. She eats when she is hungry and sleeps when she is tired, usually for like 15 minutes at a time, unless we go somewhere, then she'll sleep for a long time in her carseat. She's pretty laid back and up for anything!
I'm already starting to get baby fevor again, LOL! I know, it's way too early! I'm hoping the birth of the next couple of babies will hold me over... and maybe as Venily gets to be more of a handful I'll rethink my decision! We have A LOT going on this year, so we will see and we'll decide when we want to start trying for baby #2 when Venily is a year old. It's just that I love Venily so very much it's overwhelming even to look into her little eyes! I wish I could clone her and have another of her, because I so would, haha!
I thought I should start writing down her likes and dislikes every month so I have something to look back on. Maybe if I get some time I will make it look pretty and I'd really like to fix up her whole site, but maybe only a little at a time!
AT 3 MONTHS...
Venily's LIKES:
*Mommy and Daddy (she adores us, but especially Mommy!)
*Eating (ha, you just have to look at her cheeks to know that!)
*Her "friends"- in order: her red puppy on her swing, her mobile friends, her yellow lion, her orange elephant, and her fan friends (shhhh...she doesn't know they're not real friends!)
*Smiling and laughing (she does it all day long!!)
*Swinging in her swing
*Watching Mommy clean while she's in her saucer
*Car rides
*Standing up
*Getting her diaper changed- I know it's weird, but she always loves it... maybe it's b/c she gets to see her mobile friends...and she always puts her feet up and is ready for it, it's really funny!
*toys, which is good b/c she has a LOT
Venily's DISLIKES:
*Having her neck rolls washed out in the mornings, haha
*Getting lotion put on her face
*Baths! She usually cries during them this whole last month, but we are starting to get a system that works a little better. (We wash her in the sink now, and it takes both of us, one to hold her in a sitting position (she hates laying down in the bath) and one to wash her)
*Tummy time! She's supposed to have like 20 min a day, but I can usually only get a few minutes in before she gets really mad
*Getting put to bed at night, even if she's really tired, she usually fights it... but after a couple of attempts she gives up and falls right to sleep!
*Her nasal aspirator (I know, all babies do!)
That's all I can think of for now! Tomorrow she is getting her 3 months pics taken and we'll finally pick up her 2 months pic and hopefully I'll be able to put it up on here and add all of the other pictures I have to still put up on here!

January 8, 2008 (Venily 2 months, 3 weeks, 6 days)
"Venily Autumn Young" is officially a star that can be seen by everyone North of the equator!! She can be found in the constellation Adromeda, "The Princess," at the location: 2h 32m 54.24s 43 35' 43.66". Isn't that so cool? I'd love to see it some day, but I know it won't be nearly as beautiful as the real Venily Autumn Young!
Only 5 more days until our very own little princess turns 3 months!! I will probably update again then!

January 1, 2008 (Venily 2 months, 2 weeks, 6 days old)
We're wishing everyone a safe and happy 2008! I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! Venily is going to be crawling, walking, talking, having her first birthday, getting 2 new cousins, and growing and learning every day, IT'S GOING TO BE A VERY BUSY YEAR FOR US!!! She's getting big sooo fast already! She's already in Size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes! She officially does not fit in her bath tub any more (she had her LAST bath in it yesterday, it's getting too ridiculous, but now what do I do?!) and she is quickly outgrowing her bassinet and every thing else! She is CONSTANTLY trying to sit up if she is in a reclined position and actually does really good on her own or holding on to someone's hands (she's going to have little abs of steel) and LOVES to stand and can't be still for long. I think she is going to on the move as soon as possible. So, here is to a crazy, happy, fun, exciting, prosperous, adventurous, new year!!!! Lots of love to everyone!

Current mood:Reflective Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes So, it's New Years Day, the very first day of 2008 and I'm feeling very reflective, lol. I just read through all of my old blogs on here and I found one where I wrote about 2006/2007 and thought I should write one about 2007/2008! This past year has seriously been AMAZING!!! I'm so happy and really feel good with where I am as a person, where we are as a couple, and where we are as a new family of three! Lets, see... 2007... In 2007 we went on our honeymoon, which was the best trip we ever went on and had soooo much fun and we got it in just in time b/c as soon as we came home we found out we were almost 5 weeks pregnant!!! And after 6 months of really trying, that was one of the best days of my life! At the end of May we also found out it was a girl, which quite honestly was another one of the best days of my life (I'd actually rank it higher than my wedding day, lol!). I was ECSTATIC and loved almost every minute of being pregnant (other than the initial morning sickness). Jason and I also had our 1 Year wedding anniversary and celebrated 6 years of being together. Jacki, Jake, and Kaitlyn moved back up here from Georgia and it feels like they were never gone! Venily was born and I became A MOMMY!!!! And I LOVE it, and I will NEVER forget how it felt to finally have everything I ever wanted come together. She is so wonderful and has just filled my life with complete happiness! In 2007 we also found out we are getting 2 more nephews and/or neices, creating an instant play group for our little Venily and lots to look forward to in 2008! Looking back on it, I really think 2007 has been the best year of my life and I think 2008 is going to be EVEN BETTER!! In 2008... * Jason gets his insurance settlement money in January... can't even tell you how long we've been waiting for it!!! * Hopefully we'll be able to sell our house when we put it up for sale in the spring and hopefully we'll be able to build a new house for us to live in if everything goes right! (though I'm sure the whole thing will cause a bit of stress!) * We'll get to celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary and our 7 year anniversary of being together! * We'll be getting two new babies for us to love added to our family! * And it will be FILLED with lots of new accomplishments from Venily! She is going to crawl, walk, talk, and turn one! Can't wait, it's going to be so fun watching our little baby grow into a little girl! Last year I also wrote about what my resolutions were and I think I did great on my resolutions for 2007, I'm very proud of myself! This year Jason and I decided to make "living greener" our resolution! We've already started recycling everything we possibly can, installed a wood burning stove, changed ALL our light bulbs over to energy efficient ones, and are super obsessive now about turning things off and conserving electricity. We also watch lots of shows that give us ideas about how to live better. I think it's a great resolution. It'll save us money, it's good for the environment, and it'll help us teach Venily good values! When we build our new house, we'll also look for as many energy-saving things we can add too and EVENTUALLY we'd like to like completely off the grid, lol, but that's going to probably be several years down the road. I also have a few minor resolutions I'd like to work on myself: eat healthier and work out to lessen my stress (I know, it's so cliche, but it is something I'd like to do!), and be more understanding. Good luck and happiness to everyone for a great 2008!!!! |
