March 28, 2007 (10 weeks, 6 days pregnant w/ Venily)

Photobucket

Well, we had our first major scare today with the baby! I was spotting this morning and, of course, freaking out!! I looked at all of my books and the only thing I could find was about m/c's (I can't even write out the word). So, I called Jason crying and he told me to call the nurse. I did and she told me I could come in right away for an ultrasound.

We went in and everything looks great!!!! I am SOOOO RELIEVED!!!! We got to see the baby moving around like crazy! He/she was waving his arms around all over the place and kicking like crazy! Then he (it's just easier to refer to one or the other, we don't know yet!) was arching his back up and practically doing flips! I was laughing too which made her (haha, I'm being annoying just like the books) move all around! We also got to see her little heart beat and we got to hear it too! 184 beats per minute, perfect!!! And she's measuring the perfect size and everything else is great! Jason was just absolutely in awe, I loved it!! The woman doing the ultrasound said that everything looked great so we went to the nurse and she said that everything is fine. Sometimes that just happens b/c the placenta isn't taking up the entire uterus yet and there is still some area where blood can come from. I'm just glad that's over, and it was great to see the baby and know that everything is going to be okay! I wish I had taken a video of our little baby moving around, it was so crazy how clear everything was, the picture doesn't do it justice, but he/she is still the cutest baby I've ever seen in my life!

March 26, 2007 (10 weeks, 4 days pregnant w/Venily)

Well, my first appointment went great! Everything is looking good! The only weird thing is my uterus is backwards or something, which isn't going to cause any problems, but might cause me some pressure on my back until the baby grows upwards. Oh, and I didn't hear the baby's heart. Didn't even remember to ask about it, I was kind of overwhelmed!

I'm really kind of torn now (even more than before) on which hospital I want to continue at. I went to Burlington for this appointment and really liked my doctor and all of the staff there, plus it's so close to our house that I could walk there if I wanted to. But, at the same time, I really want to transfer to Kenosha because of the facilities there and the technology and all of that. After talking to Kathy yesterday, I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up going to Kenosha. But, then thinking about it, the next several appointments are only going to be 10 minutes long each, so do I really want to drive all the way to Kenosha for a 10 minute appointment? I don't know!

Oh, and my doctor said that there is ABSOLUTELY no problem with being a vegetarian!!!! He said that I actually probably eat better and more healthy than non-vegetarians, so everyone that was concerned about that can forget about it now (including Jason who asked like 50 times if there is anything I need to do differently or specifically eat b/c I'm a vegetarian)! He also said that because I'm so tall, I'll probably always look smaller than how far along I am and that it has nothing to do with how much food I eat or anything like that. He said that (along with being a vegetarian) I will probably cause a lot of people to be concerned with what I'm eating, but that there is absolutely no need to worry. SOO, if you are reading this, that means: yes I'm fine, yes I'm eating healthy, yes I'm doing everything that I'm supposed to be doing, and yes I might look small, but I am tall. Lol, I already anticipated that that would be a problem!

Other than that I'm still feeling sick a lot and I've developed a new thing where every single night I wake up at like 3:00 or something and need to go to the bathroom and I feel sick and I then can't fall asleep for several hours! Also, I have crazy dreams all the time now, mostly about being pregnant and ghosts!

Oh, and we've been talking about names more and we are both pretty set on Venily for a girl and, as of yesterday Jason didn't like ANY of my names for boys, so we're still looking! Jason doesn't want anything that sounds dorky (which none of them did) and he's thinking something that starts with a "B." So if you know of any good "B" names (or any names for boys) that are unusual, but good and not dorky, please let us know! :)

I had my first specific dream last night that told me what the sex of the baby is going to be! I've been having crazy dreams every night and most of the time I'm pregnant, but this one was VERY realistic! Jason and I had gone in for an ultrasound and I was laying down on the table and the nurse was doing the ultrasound and we were watching it on the screen. It's still way to early to find out, but we were also doing a chroionic villus sampling which is a test that they do for genetic disorders if you're high risk that also can tell you the sex of the baby (and they preform it between 9 and 12 weeks). Lol, I have to add that I went to the library yesterday and picked up a bunch of pregnancy books and was reading them all day, which is probably why I had this dream (and I have no plans on getting the CVS test)! Anyway the nurse took out the needle and put it into my stomach and took out some of the fluid or whatever they do. Then she waited a little bit and asked me what it was that I was hoping for. I told her a girl and she looked a little sad and said we'd have to wait a little bit longer to find out. So, we waited for like another minute and then this huge button popped up that said "yes." The nurse smiled and looked over at us and told us that we were having a girl!!! I was so excited I couldn't stop smiling! Then I woke up and realized that I had fallen asleep on the couch and that it was 2:15am. I went to bed and told Jason, lol, but I couldn't get back to sleep until 4:30am because I felt so sick.

Anyway, now I think I'm having a girl! It changes every day, though. The other day I was convinced I was having a boy b/c I'm not much more emotional than usual (but I'm already a pretty emotional person), but I do think I'm a slight bit snippier than usual. Lol, my reasoning is that more estrogen would make you more emotional and more testosterone would make you snippier, but who knows, I have nothing to compare it to! I also read that there was a study that found that if you have morning sickness (and I do ), you have a slightly higher chance of having a girl. But, also, I looked at the Chinese calendar and it says a boy! Lol, guess I'll just have to wait a few more months and find out! But, girl OR boy, I'll be happy either way so it doesn't really matter. I just wish I KNEW because the suspense is killing me!!!

March 22, 2007 (10 weeks pregnant w/ Venily)

So, I'm 10 WEEKS TODAY (out of 40)!!!! I'm 25% of the way there!

Jason saw a little girl riding a bike today with sunglasses on and decided that he wants to have a little girl! Lol, then he decided that he wants a boy first so that he can look after his little sister. He doesn't know what he wants! I saw the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade Spring program today and cried when the little kids did solos. I just thought how proud Jason would be if he was their father. He'd have his little camcorder set up and I KNOW he'd be crying too!! Lol, I can't wait!

March 18, 2007 (9 weeks, 3 days pregnant w/ Venily)
Jacki helped us start this website for our new baby, she's the BEST!!! I hope to keep it updated regularly so check back and don't forget to leave us a comment!!

Well, Jason and I got married on July 8, 2006 after being together for 5 years. We've been hoping for a baby ever since we got married and we just took our honeymoon in February on a 7 night cruise to the Caribbean! When we got back from our cruise, I was feeling funny and Jason went out and bought me a pregnancy test on Valentine's Day! I took it the next morning and found out it was POSITIVE after 6 months of trying!!! We both are extremely excited and can't wait to start our own little family!

The first couple of weeks after finding out were very tough for me! I was VERY sick for 3 weeks straight all morning, day, and night. I had to practically live off crackers and ginger ale! The past week and a half I have been doing a lot better. I'm still nauseous a lot, but it's much more manageable and I have got my appetite back. Now the only time I really get sick is at night or if I go too long without eating! I'm about 9 1/2 weeks along right now, so I'm hoping the sicknesses will disappear entirely very soon!

We've been to the doctor already, but go to our first real appointment on March 26th, so I'll have more to write about then. We're hoping to hear the heartbeat, I can't wait!! Our baby's official due date is October 18th. I'm really hoping for a girl and Jason just wants a healthy baby and has absolutely no gender preference. We're still narrowing down very unique names for both boys and girls and we'll let everyone know when we're down to only a couple! Please click on the ExpectNet.com online baby pool to make guesses about our baby!

So… a LOT of people have been asking me if I have any names picked out for our baby and the truth is I have a MILLION! I have a list that I've been adding to for years! Some of them I've outgrown or they've become too popular, so I'll only write down the ones I still really like. Seeing as I grew up w/ a really common first name and we have a pretty common last name, Young, I only like really unusual or unique names. AND, Jason and I had a verbal marriage contract that said that I get to name our kids, lol, and I am going to hold him to that!!!! J/K, I'll let him have a little bit of say! So, let me know what you think of these names or if you have any other names that I could add to my list to consider!

GIRLS' Names!!!!

* Venily- (probably my favorite, Jason wants to call her Venna, but I would probably always call her Venily)

* Kalika- (I love this name! Jason doesn't! It is from one of my favorite books as a kid, The Last Vampire)

* Raezel- (Love this name! Pron. "Ray- zel")

* Icelyn- (Love it, but I don't know about a fall baby?)

* Mailee/ Maylee

*Aurelia

* Hayden- (Jason LOVES this name b/c of Hayden Pantierre, but I don't know if it's too popular?)

POSSIBLE MIDDLE NAMES:

*Auden, Ayla, Skya, Skye, Daia/ Daya, Raya, Raina, Ryla

BOYS' Names!!!!

* Haizen- (LOVE it!!)

* Malikai- (Love it, but Jason HATES it. I think it sounds like a really strong name, but everyone I know tells me someone bad w/ that name.)

* Raiden/ Raidan- (Love it! Jason thinks it's too much like Raidon (the element, lol))

* Joss- (he was one of my students while student teaching, but I would like to make up a longer name for this one- Jason doesn't like it)

* Stryder- (Jason hates it, I dated a guy w/ this name, lol!)

* Decklin- (Love it! I got it from Kyle XY, but I don't know if it's too popular for me?)

* Brychan

POSSIBLE MIDDLE NAMES:

* Storm, Callum, Kahlo, Asher

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!!!!!! I am also considering adding "Reyer" as a second middle name to all of my children like I added it to my middle name.

Some combos I really like are Venily Raya (Reyer) Young, and Haizen Storm (Reyer) Young!

So.... our official due date is October 18, 2007!!!! I knew it was going to be around there sometime, but it's crazy to actually hear it from a doctor! We are both super excited about this baby, it's going to be such a huge, wonderful change in our lives!!! I've been reading everything that I can about babies and am back to watching my baby shows and Jason is super obsessive about me and the health of the baby. It's really cute, but it can get annoying sometimes! He is going to be a very protective father! I'm still really, really sick and pretty much have to constantly eat crackers and ginger ale. There are some days that I can barely get off the couch because I'm so nauseous- and for some reason it is bad all morning and day and then gets even worse at night, but I know it's all going to be worth it and that this stage doesn't last forever (at least I hope!). We are sooooo excited and can't wait to have our own little family!!!!!!

For anyone who would like to know how our trip went... it was absolutely perfect and absolutely amazing!!!! By far the best vacation either of us has ever been on! I highly recommend a cruise to anyone who is thinking about going. It's definitely the best experience for the best price!

Our ride to the airport, our trip down to Miami and getting to and on the ship went great. Very easy (unlike our ride back). And when we saw the ship and got on it, we were absolutely AMAZED!! It's HUGE, way bigger than I even pictured it. It's 3 times BIGGER than the Titanic was! Lol, I was very impressed with that! It's like 17 or 18 stories tall and had everything on it you could imagine. There is even a tall "mall- like" area down the middle of the inside of the ship that is several stories tall that is just gigantic, you would never guess that a boat could have that much space! And there is a huge theatre that is 2 stories tall and has balcony seating too that probably holds about 2,000+ people. CRAZY!! And our room was so cool! Everyone makes fun of how small the rooms are, but we spent a little bit more for an ocean-view room which is just a window overlooking the ocean. BUT!!!!! We got upgraded to a balcony room so we had our own balcony overlooking the ocean, it was just absolutely AWESOME! We spent so much time out there. Oh, and the food was probably the highlight of the whole trip, lol, which is weird for me b/c I'm such a picky eater and I usually don't care that much about food. We both probably easily gained 10 pounds each, lol. There is free, all you can eat food, all the time!!! And there is such a huge variety and so many different places that you can go and it was unbelieveable too! There's buffets and snack places, 24 hour room service, and really nice, elegant, sit down dinners w/ menus with no prices, lol. We even had to get all dressed up for dinner every night, which I love. And the people who worked on the cruise were fantastic! They were so helpful ALL of the time. They were always laughing and singing and dancing while they were doing their jobs, we couldn't believe it! It was so fun on the ship too. Every night we saw a performace in the theatre- singing and dancing, comedians, a vantreliquist (he wasn't that great), acrobats, just anything you could think of and it was so good! We even saw a professional ice-skating show! Oh, and there was this live "Newlywed" game show where they took 3 couples out of the audience- one that was married for 3 1/2 months, one that was married for like 55 years, and then one in between and asked them questions like they do on the show and it was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life!!! And there were live bands of all different kinds of music playing on the ship all over the place- out by the pool, in the bars and clubs, in the mall area, just everywhere. On the ship we also played in the Casino every night, lol, and had so much fun doing that! We came in the first night and only spent $10, and we played mostly nickel slots, and I kept winning like $15 every time we'd go and Jason would just lose all of the money! Then on the last night Jason won $75, and we ended up going home w/ about $45 more than when we started, so that was good! I only got sea-sick for a little bit the two days that we were entirely at sea, but they had free seasickness pills and those really helped. Okay, about the places we stopped at...

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO- It was really cool from like a historical perspective. There were a lot of really cool, old forts around Old San Juan and the buildings had really nice architecture, a lot of Spanish influence. We took a tour around the city and went in the shops in town, but we didn't go to the beach or anything. It was really kind of run down and there was a lot of poverty and the streets were unbelievably narrow.

ST. MAARTEN- was probably my favorite. It's really hilly and pretty. We took a cab to the beach and spent most of the day there and then we went into town and looked at the shops and stuff. The part we went to was owned by the Netherlands and the other half of the island is own by France. Again, there were parts that were really poor, and the roads are so skinny, you couldn't imagine ever driving on them, but it was cool.

ST. THOMAS- was Jason's favorite. It was a lot like St. Maarten, but it is owned by the U.S. so it's more like commercialized. (Except for the fact that they drive on the wrong side of the road there). We did the same thing that we did at St. Maarten, too, we drove to the beach and spent most of the day swimming in the ocean and laying on the beach and then went shopping for a little bit.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- We actually went on an excursion on this one!! Royal Carribbean has a bunch of packages you can buy for tours, scuba diving, snorkeling, etc. We went on a boat tour of Nassau and Paradise Island (where all of the celebrities have houses), which was nice, Jason and a bunch of other people even saw a stingray jump out of the water! Then we went SNORKELING at a reef and it was the most amazing thing I've ever done! I can't swim, I'm afraid of water and fish and things, but I'm so glad I went! When you look down into the water it looks just like you're watching like an ocean special on t.v.! It was insane. We saw like long, skinny neon blue fish, huge dark blue fish, yellow, black, and white stripped fish, and so many that I know I've seen on t.v. and tons of different kinds of coral and things. And then we rode back on the boat and went to the shops and things in Nassau. The only difference is that Nassau was REALLY poor and scary. There were people trying to sell us things everywhere, one guy trying to sell us drugs, and it smelled so bad in the shops! It was gross! Then one guy asked me if I could stay in the Bahamas w/ him, lol! No thanks, it wasn't the nicest place.

And the weather was so great at all of the islands, like 80's the whole time, but not too hot. Then we went to Miami for 2 days which kind of sucked. It was still like in the 70's, but it rained the whole time so we just stayed in our hotel room and watched movies and would occasionally walk somewhere in the rain, not very fun! Then our flight home got cancelled going into Chicago and it was really long before we finally got home! We kept getting delayed and then we finally switched to going into Milwaukee where the weather wasn't that bad. We ended up spending 12 hours in the airports that day and were so bored after spending two days inside our hotel room, lol. But, we made it home eventually only to find EVERYTHING going wrong w/ our house. Our pipes froze so none of our water was working in our bathroom, our door to our basement broke, water was leaking in everywhere in our living room and bedroom, our computer broke, lol, and I'm sick now! AND, on top of that, IT'S FREEZING here!! So, Jason spent all day today fixing everything and everything is good now. But, we definitely want to go on another cruise again and bring people with us, b/c it's SO fun! Probably next winter or something, so save up your money!!!! Hahaha, there's only a couple of people I can think of that would actually read this whole thing...sorry I went on forever. The crazy thing is there is so much I didn't write about, lol! It was so great, I wish we were back there!!!

So, after many hours of research, we decided on our honeymoon! We are going on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean!!! I am sooo excited!! We already booked it! We're going on the Royal Caribbean cruise line and the ship is called the Explorer of the Seas, it's so gorgeous!! And it's HUGE, it's got a fitness center, casino, miniture golf, cinema, ice skating rink, regular skating rink, indoor and outdoor pools, ping pong, rockclimbing, scuba diving, tennis, lots of restaurants, etc., etc., so there is no way we're going to get bored! We're going for 7 nights and we leave from Miami, FL, go to Puerto Rico, St. Martin , one of the US Virgin Islands (Charlotte Amalie/St. Thomas, where Jason's parents went on their honeymoon), and Nassau, Bahamas (where my brother and his wife got married and had their honeymoon), and then back to Miami!!!!! AND, we got an oceanview room (the last one) AND we're leaving VERY soon! February 4th- 11th!!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Here's a link to see our ship (you can also click on the virtual tour):

So, we're planning our honeymoon right now- probably sometime in February, but we're not sure about where we want to go! We were thinking California (San Diego), but I've been there before and it's not going to be warm enough for me to go swimming and hang out at the ocean and stuff. Plus, I really want to go to upper California on a separate vacation to see the Redwood trees and things like that. We're also considering Hawaii, but the flight is expensive, so we'd have to stay at a not-so-expensive hotel if we decide to go there. OR, we want to go on a cruise, probably departing from Florida and we could go to the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and/or Mexico and other surrounding islands. I vote for a cruise, but Jason isn't sure. He thinks we'll be trapped on the boat and it won't be fun. (Even though the ones we've been looking at have pools on board and music, dinner, dancing, etc.). Neither of us have been on a cruise before, any suggestions or advice?? All I really care about doing is swimming, tanning, and seeing some cool scenery, but Jason wants to make sure that we have activities to do (he's thinking more like riding mules to places, rock climbing, snorkeling, etc.). Please help!

So, we're having Jason's birthday on Wednesday (sorry for the short notice, but you know how Jason is!). It should be really fun though! We're going to go rock climbing and then probably go to Scores afterwards! We got a really good group rate, so it'll only be $12 a person to climb (and that includes all of the equipment) or you can just come to hang out and watch. And children as young as five can climb! We hope everyone can make it! Let us know if you have any questions!

Well, 2006 has been a crazy year ! I would say that the first half of the year has been the most difficult couple of months of my life, while the second half has been some of the best. The beginning of the year I had to deal with student teaching (eighth graders, lesson plans, parent-teacher conferences, detentions, phone calls home, portfolios, etc.), NO free time at all, a couple of very sick family members (which tested every limit I could possibly have), wedding planning (I don't care what anyone says- it is NOT fun planning your own wedding- especially on a budget and with no free time to do it!), and TONS AND TONS of stress . The only real great thing that happened in the first half was the birth of my nephew, which was by no means easy or stress-free.

The second half of the year, however, got SOOO much better! I graduated, Jason and I had our 5 year anniversary of being together, we got MARRIED! <3 src="http://x.myspace.com/images/blog/smileys/love.gif"> [yep, we pulled it off (some of it at the last minute) and it turned out fantastic], I gained a wonderful new family, we became really close to some wonderful people!, the family members who were sick got better (or at least for the most part), and Jason and I were able to spend a LOT of time together as husband and wife and it's been AMAZING! Hopefully this newlywed feeling lasts forever b/c I love it! Oh, and I started subbing which I really like. I'm told that I'm pretty all the time by cute little kids, kids want to hold my hand when we walk in the halls, etc. and I get paid over double any job I've ever worked in my life- so that's really nice.

And, even though part of this year has been so great, I have a feeling that 2007 is going to be even better! I have so much to look forward to:

* Jason's 24th birthday in January (even though 25 is going to be even better b/c he gets a bunch of money!)

* New, major government changes in January! Yay!

* Going on our honeymoon (somewhere warm, we don't know where yet, probably California!)

* A visit from Jacki, Jake, & Kaitlyn in a couple of months! (And we'll probably be going to Georgia again sometime after that)

* Chase walking, talking, and turning one! I can't wait, he's already crawling around like crazy!

* Spending more time with my awesome husband!

* Our one year wedding anniversary & celebrating 6 years together! (hopefully our cake isn't freezer burnt, lol)

* Possibly a MAJOR move around July (don't know if I'm excited about that, probably more nervous)

* more weddings to go to (and not my own!)

* being a mommy!!!!! (The number one thing I'm looking forward to in 2007!!!)

* and of course lots more that I don't even know about yet!!!

I'm sooo excited!

And, even though I'm not really into making New Year's resolutions, there are a few things I'd like to do this next year…

#1- Stop caring so much about what others think of me. It's so not worth it. I am an incredibly lucky person with an amazing life so obviously there are always going to be people who are unhappy with everything I have compared to themselves and I'm not going to let those people bring me down.

#2- Stop obsessing about things I have absolutely no control over. Things will happen when the time is right!

#3- And continue doing everything else that I'm doing now, because it's obviously working!

CAN'T WAIT FOR 2007!!!!

coal! Yep, that's right, I'm getting the stork coal for X-mas b/c he hasn't been very good this year!! For some reason, he doesn't want to give me a baby! Oh, and Santa is getting coal too b/c I asked for a baby and he isn't going to bring it!

I hate this! Now we are going to go to Christmas parties and everyone is going to ask me if I'm pregnant yet and ask me what is taking so long and I'm going to be so sad... Especially when we go to the Stein's b/c EVERY time I see Clem he can't shut up about it (especially when he's drunk, and he always is!)! I don't know why we told anyone we wanted a baby to begin with! (Oh wait, I do know why, b/c I was too excited and couldn't keep my mouth closed about it!)

And the worst part is that I KNOW we did everything right. I bought the stupid ovulation tests and took them and planned everything out just right. This sucks.... So, I'm staying home today w/ horrible cramps and drinking cappuchino (which I have banned myself from b/c I don't want to drink caffeine when I'm pregnant) and sulking!!

So, no baby in August either, maybe September...

I am so happy right now!

I am exactly in the stage of my life that I want to be at. I have been waiting for this my whole life, ever since I was a little girl. I never could have dreamed that I would be this lucky. I'm completely done with school (which is such a huge accomplishment that it hasn't even sunk in yet- I'm still in shock!), I'm marrying my high school sweetheart and the greatest guy I know (I can't believe that I got it right on the first try! And the wedding is going to be awesome!), and we're planning on starting a family ASAP (which means more to me than anything- I have been waiting and hoping for this forever. I am so excited- I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!). On top of all of this, we are planning on buying another house and we are still so young, we have our whole lives ahead of us to enjoy all of these things. I feel like everything good is starting all at once and it is all happening right now and I couldn't imagine anyone in the world that I would rather be sharing all of these things with than Jason!! He is amazing in every possible way!!! He is cute, funny, sexy, smart, and creative. He also would do anything for me (and does!). He is so supportive. There is no way I could have gotten through the four long, difficult years in college without him. And he worries about me so much, which I think is adorable. He's always checking up on me and making sure that everything is okay. He wants me to be happy more than anything else and I want him to be happy too. We have the same vision for our future and we are on the same page for all of the most important issues in our lives. Over the 5 years that we've been together, he's also grown up and changed dramatically. He has become my ideal guy. He's hard-working, financially smart, patient, and has his priorities in order. And, most importantly, I know that he is going to be an amazing father. I love watching him with his little brother and niece because he's so great with kids and it makes me so happy!! He's so cute, he tries to think about things from their perspective and I can totally see him as a little league coach and driving the kids around when they're older, and teaching them how to do things for the first time, and talking to their friends...its going to be so fun! I can't wait to get married and continue our lives together!!!!!!
