Haven is 3 weeks old!!!
And social smiling as of 2 days ago!!!! :) She looks just like her sister did with her first smiles, exactly like a little Japanimation cartoon! It melts my heart like nothing else!!!! I got quite a few smiles yesterday... so, soooo, sooooooo precious!! I can't wait until she starts laughing, she's going to have so much fun laughing at her goofy sister!! ♥
This past week she is also in 3-6 month clothes now! :( She'll still fit in her onesies, but all of her 0-3m sleepers' legs are WAY too short, lol! She's all scrunched up in them and can't stretch her legs out! It's too bad because I had to pack up so much, a lot she hasn't even worn yet!
Haven has also decided this past week that laying on your back is NO fun!! It really bothers her, so I'm almost certain she has reflux! She doesn't like to sleep on her back, doesn't even like to be propped up like in her bouncer for very long, but put her on her stomach or sit her all the way up and she's the happiest girl in the world!! (Venily HATED being on her stomach!)
The other day I took Haven grocery shopping and it was quite the ordeal, lol! First of all, I went in the evening (which was a huge mistake b/c Haven likes to be held in the evenings!). As soon as I got there I fed her in the van and then we went in. She did NOT want to be in her carseat b/c she has to lay back, so she was very fussy (and just like her sister she is so not interested in pacifiers whatsoever!). I took her to the bathroom and changed her. Then I started to try to go shopping, nope, still fussy! So I went BACK in the bathroom and fed her again and thought she'd be good to go! NOPE! As soon as I started going, she was fussy again! So I held her with one hand and pushed the cart with the other THROUGH THE WHOLE STORE, lol! People thought it was funny, oh well! :) I had to kick the cart with my feet to get it to turn because it was so heavy. But she was happy, so that's all that matters! From now on I HAVE to remember to bring my baby carrier with me (she LOVES it!)!! As soon as I got all the groceries loaded in my van, I fed her again and she fell asleep and we went home! I was lucky I didn't have Venily with me as well!
She is starting to get some eczema on her face. I am trying to lotion her up now before it gets as bad as Venily's did!
I think that's all for updates! :) She really is a very easy baby, even easier than Venily was!!! She eats and sleeps great and doesn't even mind diaper changes, clothes changes or her nasal aspirator! I really thought having 2 would be SOOO much harder, but it's really not too bad at all!
Still haven't gotten around to Venily's 2 year update!!! I've been really busy getting my house and everything ready for Venily's birthday party tomorrow! There is going to be a LOT of people in my small house, lol, I hope it turns out alright!! She's really excited though and asks every day if it's her birthday party yet!! :)

We have a new member of our family!
Welcome Edward!! (As in Edward Scissorhands, Venily's FAVORITE person in the world! Jason even wants to be Edward Scissorhands for Halloween, lol! She's obsessed with him! lol)
Daddy had to work late yesterday, so we are going to celebrate Venily's birthday by going somewhere very fun a different day (hopefully a WARMER day!), but we were able to get her her first fish for her aquarium, and she was VERY excited about that! We had a whole bunch of cool fish picked out, including a shark, but then we realized that we knew NOTHING about fish, lol! I guess you need the tank set up at least 72 hours before you put fish in... and the fish we wanted needed a water heater... so there was a VERY strong possibility that if we had brought those fish home yesterday they would all have been dead by morning! So we went with a Betta since they are almost impossible to kill and live for so long! We plan on getting some more friends for Edward at a different time so he's not so lonely! Venily has checked on him already a million times today and loves watching him swim around!!!

Haven's Dr Appt (2 weeks, 3 days)
Haven had her 2 week doctor appointment today and everything looks great!!
She weighed in at 11.03lbs and was 23 inches long!! (At Venily's 2 week she was 8lbs, 9oz and 22in) The doctor and nurse both said that she was a very big girl!! And everyone that saw her today asked me if she was 2 or 3 months old, lol!
The doctor said that she is very alert and appears to be very healthy. She does have a small umbilical hernia (which I had thought) but that should go away on its own. She also has a clogged tear duct, but I just need to rub the area a couple times a day.
I asked about her spitting up and told her how Venily spit up until she was 10 months and how she had a lactose sensitivity until she was 19 months old, and the doctor wants me to limit my dairy intake and see if that helps. I also have to keep her upright for 20 minutes after she eats. The doctor thinks she probably has reflux too and if it isn't better by her next appointment at 2 months we can look at reflux medications, though it's obviously not too big a problem since she has no problem gaining weight. I really wish I would have had her as my pediatrician when Venily was born!
Oh and last night I think Haven slept for 5 or 6 straight hours until I woke her up to change her diaper!!! I'm not positive on the times, but I'm pretty sure! :)

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! I WILL PROBABLY HAVE HER 2 YEAR UPDATE DONE SOMETIME TOMORROW! WE'VE BEEN SUPER BUSY RUNNING AROUND ALL MORNING, BUT I'M NOT SURE WHAT WE ARE DOING WHEN HER DADDY GETS HOME... IT'S KIND OF COLD OUTSIDE, SO WE'LL SEE, hopefully we can still find something fun to do!

So...
Haven's cord fell off today (she is 15 days old)! Yay, it was just hanging there yesterday, so gross!!
But... she has a runny nose and a slight fever (99.9 degrees). Sick newborns are the saddest! :( She is doing fine, just wanting to be held a bit more. I hope she feels better soon!

Haven is 2 weeks old!!
(And 3 more days until big sister Venily turns 2!!!)
Haven is still doing great!! She really is a VERY good baby!!
*She's been getting a little fussy at night though sometimes, and does NOT like to lay flat on her back to go to sleep. She wants me to hold her, but obviously that can't happen because I need to sleep too. Last night every time I laid her down, she'd spit up all over! :( Then today she spit up A LOT one time. :( I hope this isn't the start of it!
*Otherwise she sleeps A LOT still during the day! :) But when she is awake, she's VERY alert!!
*She smiles and laughs all the time while sleeping! I LOVE it!! ♥
*She eats great too! About every 2 hours, though I'm demand feeding her. Last night I think she went 4 hours, but I very well could have forgotten a feeding, lol! I sure wish she'd go 4 hours every night! I try to take a nap every day while Venily is taking one, but sometimes that doesn't work out or I want to get things done around the house and then I regret it!
*She has her first appointment with her pediatrician on Tuesday! I can't wait to see how much she weighs now! I know she's DEFINITELY past her birth weight!
*My FAVORITE, FAVORITE, FAVORITE thing in the world is laying on the couch with her cuddled up on me!! She is so sweet and cuddly, I could sit there all day!! And she smells so good and has the softest skin. I can't stop kissing her either, I love her so much!
*Venily just loves her too! She is always talking to her, singing to her, touching her, kissing her, etc! And every time we go somewhere she always makes sure that Haven is coming with, lol. Yesterday morning she woke up and came in by me and said:
Venily: "Mommy, pee potty badly."
Me: "Okay honey, let's go."
Venily: (starts walking towards the door and then stops)"Wait a minute!"
Me: "What's wrong?"
Venily: (runs over to Haven) "We'll be right back Haven!"
Haha! She's always doing stuff like that! And she's always telling me "Mommy, Haven's fussy, get her!" or "It's OKAY Haven! What's the matter?". Haven is so lucky to have her as her big sister!!

This can't be happening...
2:30 this morning, my 12 day, 3 hour old baby girl sat up all by herself for at least 30 seconds.
I know you are thinking that I was obviously sleep-deprived and delusional, lol. I thought so too! She was really stuffy and I was holding her while she was sitting up on my bed and it felt like she was holding herself up. I thought "no way," but I slowly let go of her, just to check. And she sat up all by herself for at least 30 seconds before I took her and laid her back down and went to get a camera. I knew there was no way I'd believe myself in the morning if I didn't get a picture. She wasn't all slumped over either, she was sitting nice and straight up in the air...
I sat her back up and thought there was no way she would do it again... but here you go...
Crazy, huh?! This morning I ran to check my camera to make sure I hadn't been dreaming! Nothing is holding her up, she is just sitting there all by herself. Venily couldn't do that for months (not that I tried, but still)! I'm hoping it was just a fluke thing, lol. I want her to stay a baby for as long as possible! This little girl is in WAY too big a hurry to grow up!!!

First Bath!
*Haven is 12 days old!
*Venily will be 2 in 5 days!
Haven got her first bath today. I've been putting it off because Venily HATED baths for so long. Haven did surprisingly well though! The first thing she did was pee and then poop ALL over the place though, lol! But during her bath she seemed to like it until she started to get a little cold. Then she was instantly happy again when she was dry and warm! :) Venily helped me, she's such a helpful little 2nd Mommy!!!
Haven is SUCH a good baby. I think she cries AT MOST about a minute a day cumulative! :) Most days she doesn't cry at all. And if she starts to get fussy and you pick her up, she's instantly content again!! She is so laid back!

Disappointed...
I CRAVED a french vanilla cappuccino my entire pregnancy and the best kind are from McDonald's. Well, Jason wouldn't let me drink caffeine while pregnant so I finally got one yesterday and was so excited. It turned out to be coffee and I had already ran around so much that morning that I decided not to turn back and I drank it. Well, today I tried again to get one. Same thing. This time I went back. Turns out that that is their NEW cappuccino, they now use an expresso maker to make it, no more instant cappuccinos! :( Why would I pay $2.50 for something that tastes like regular old coffee?!
Looks like now if I want a cappuccino I have to bring both the girls into a gas station with me! :(
On a better note, Venily did good at her class today, though her Daddy came with so that might have had something to do with it. She said she was sad at storytime yesterday because she didn't like the song (it was about emotions, being sad, crying, yelling, etc.). When she came home, she also slept for 2.5 hours, when she usually only sleeps for like 1-1.5.

First outing alone with the girls...
Haven is 10 days old today!!! And already in size 1 diapers! :(
Haven, Venily, and I went on our first outing together to library storytime!! I was really proud of myself for getting us all ready and out the door, lol! Haven was an ANGEL and Venily acted really weird and shy and started crying about 20 minutes in.... :( I don't know if it's because she's kind of sick or what. It might have been all the attention Haven was getting. My mom came and picked her up so I could take Haven grocery shopping with me and when my mom asked her what Storytime was about today she said "Haven". LOL!! It's weird because she hasn't shown ANY jealousy or aggression or anything towards her, she's been the exact opposite actually! I'm hoping her ABC, Music, & Me class goes better tomorrow!
Haven has now been to the hospital, Taco Bell, The White Fox Den, her Grandma & Grandpa's house, Aunt Jacki & Uncle Jake's house, the library, and Walmart, lol! And she is soooo good everywhere she goes! I think she is going through a growth spurt because she's been sleeping for like 3 days straight, lol, and STILL sleeping good at night too! The real challenge will begin when she is done with this sleepy newborn stage!
I weighed myself this morning and am at 125 lbs!!! I've already lost more than I wanted to! And I've almost single-handedly eaten an entire pan of brownies over the last 3 days, lol!
We are trying to get things ready for Venily's 2nd birthday party! It's going to be Sunday, October 18th at our house. Jason is freaking out because our yard won't be done yet, but I really could care less! Now he is focusing on the basement and getting all the dry wall finished up finally! I can't wait until her party, she talks about it every day! And we have decided that on her actually birthday (the 13th) we are going to probably go to Bear Den Zoo and pumpkin picking! :) I also have Haven's 2 week check up and Venily has her library class that morning as well! I'm hoping the weather is better by then!

I am so blessed to have such a talented sister-in-law! I'm so glad you took up this hobby Jacki!! THANKS AGAIN, you're the BEST!!! Here are Haven's newborn pics (6 days old)!

Haven is 1 week old!!
I can't believe how fast this week has gone! :(I forgot how much I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE newborns! They are so sleepy and cuddly and cute! Haven makes the absolute most darling faces and is really quite a sweetheart! Jason and I both swear that she has smiled at us, lol, I know they aren't "real" smiles yet, but you can see what she will look like when she DOES in fact smile, and WOW is it adorable! And this being my second time around, I can not believe how much easier everything is! If she was my only child, I think this would be the easiest job in the world, lol! She sleeps GREAT, all day long, likes to be up at night though, silly girl! I can't wait until she realizes that nights are for SLEEPING!! She has a couple periods of time during the day that she is up as well and loves looking around at everything. She really loves looking at faces of people and out the windows. Loves to eat!!! Loves to pee and poop on her Mommy when she tries to change her, lol! Loves her bouncer seat. Doesn't care for getting dressed or getting her diaper changed.
Her spitting up problem seems a lot better now. Now it's just a few drops of fresh milk that comes out of her mouth after she eats every once in a while. Fingers crossed that that is going to be it!
