Bunny- Part 2

We came home from the store yesterday and got out of our van.

Venily:  "Mom, I see the bunny!  Can I PLEASE hold him?  He is so, so, sooooo cute!"

Me:  "No, sorry hunny."  (What am I supposed to say?!  THERE IS NO BUNNY!  haha)

Venily:  "But I'm going to hold him in my hands like this (she pretends she's holding a bunny) and say 'Oh bunny you are soooo cute!' and then give him a kiss! (and she kisses her pretend bunny)  Can I Mommy?"

Me:  "No hunny, we need to get these groceries inside."

(So she starts trying to cross the street to get to him and I have to yell at her.  :(  )

**********

And have I mentioned that her newest favorite saying is "You hurt my feelings!" Lol, the things kids pick up!

Haven 5 month pics...

We went a little crazy today and took tons of pictures, haha!  Me and Venily both! :)  Here are a few...

Haven is 5 months!

Is that right?!  I just had her!!  PLEASE let her stay little forever!!

Here are her 5 month stats:

Weight: approximately 17lbs, 12oz (she was weighed at the dr's about 1.5 weeks ago and weighed 17lbs, 8oz)

Length: 27.75 inches!!

(Venily was about 16lbs and 26.5 in AND I WAS AMAZED AT HOW TALL SHE WAS, HAHA!)

Haven's growth charts:
Her charts crack me up, top of the chart for weight and OFF the chart for height!  She's a big, TALL girl!!  Her car seat has a max height of 29in, we need to start looking for a new one NOW!  We had to adjust up her excersaucer a couple weeks ago too!

Clothes size: mostly 9m & 12m still, though some of her 12m sleepers are even getting short on the arms & legs.  I am going to have to take up sewing in order to have properly fitting clothes for her, haha!

Diaper size: 3

Shoe size: 2

SLEEPING: Usually sleeps through the night, sometimes gets up once to nurse and goes right back to sleep.  Haven typically goes to bed at 8:00pm or 9:00pm, wakes around 6:30am to nurse (b/c this is when Venily wakes up) and then sleeps until between 7:30am- 8:30am.  Takes awesome naps (3 a day), usually 1-2 hours each.  I am SOOOO incredibly lucky that every day Haven takes one of her naps during Venily's nap! (I hope this lasts forever, haha!)  STILL PUTTING HERSELF TO SLEEP!!  It's soooo nice, she can just look at me with that "I'm tired" look in her eyes and that's it!  I just lay her down, her 2 middle fingers go in her mouth, and she "rocks out" to sleep! :)

She is still sleeping in her pack-and-play for naps and bedtime.  Daddy is building the girls bunk beds right now, so as soon as those are done, we can convert Venily's toddler bed back into a crib and Venily will have the bunk bed to herself until Haven is ready for a big girl bed!  Haven is still sleeping in our room and I am really hesitant to move her in with Venily since Venily is such a light sleeper.... I want to put both girls up in the loft, but Jason says no!

EATING: Still primarily breastfeeding!  She is now up to 2 "real" food meals a day now (sometimes eating 1 1/2 containers of food at a time and still wanting more!).  Usually baby food in the morning and cereal in the evening.  And we try some breastmilk in a sippy cup during her meals.  (I just started this back up this week because I was having issues with milk supply before, but am good now!)  She LOVES eating real food.  We still haven't found anything she doesn't like!  She has now had rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, bananas, peas, applesauce, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, lemons and green beans.  And a baby banana cookie (don't worry, it's a super healthy kind, I'm still just as crazy health-conscience as I was with Venily!) and sweet potato puffs (watered down)!  And oh my gosh, did she go crazy for that cookie, haha!  And she's crazy for green beans!!  You'd think it was candy, the way she eats them!  I want to start making some of my own food for her as well.  I plan to transition her to 3 meals a day and start some more non-pureed food as well by 6 months, as long as she is still liking it. I moved her to her big girl high chair and she gets really excited every time I put her in it b/c she knows she's getting food, haha!

P.S.- We were having a LOT less blow out diapers now that she is eating more solids!  Yay!  (except this last week not that she's on antibiotics! and she's pooping a hundred times a day on top of that, uh!)  I'd still really like to start using cloth diapers though.  It's just getting over the 'what if I don't like them and already spent a ton of money on them' thought process!  I did the math and if I potty train Haven at 19m like I did with Venily, we will save about $700 and if she takes longer, we'd save even more!  Plus have a much better impact on the environment!

PLAYING: Still loves all of her toys!  Especially her excersaucer.
Bites onto everything!  And is developing really good fine motor skills.  Still loves playing with her sister especially.  (What did I do when I only had one kid, lol?!)  We moved her into a big girl bath seat and she loves playing in the bath even more now! :)  She loves books and buttons and anything that makes noise or can be moved!  haha, okay she seriously loves EVERYTHING!

APPEARANCE: Same.  Eyes are still blue, still almost no hair.  My mom says that looking at Haven is exactly like looking at me as a child.  So there, Jason!  haha.  I must find my baby picture album in my basement...

My absolute favorite thing about her is her smile!!  Her giant, dimpled cheeked smile, the one that's almost always on her face!  ♥

SPEECH:  Loves to talk!  She uses a lot of vowels and mostly just "g", "h" and "b" for consonants!  (My gosh do I LOVE those b's!) The other day she did manage to say "mama" when she was mad, not that she did it on purpose, but I was totally excited! :)  She does say "hi" though all the time!!!  Though it sounds more like "HI-YEEE!" which is actually how I say it to her! :)

I am trying to start signing with her more as well!  I only ever taught Venily "eat" and "more" and would love to teach both of them a lot more (once I learn them myself!).

MOVEMENT: She is a rolling machine!!  She schooches like crazy all over the place, spins in circles, and tries to get out of anywhere I put her!  She is no longer allowed in her swing without constant supervision b/c she can almost get out even when strapped in!  She pushes up to straight arms while on her stomach and pushes up on all fours sometimes!  Next step will be crawling, oh no!  Seriously, I'm not ready for crawling...

She can sit now for a couple minutes at a time independently with no problems at all!  She is getting really good at checking her balance and loves to sway back and forth while sitting.

AT 5 MONTHS...

Haven's LIKES:
* Mommy, Daddy, and Venily

* TOYS- can't leave home without some! :)

*Eating all of her big girl food!  Especially green beans, mmmm!

*Playing with other kids and babies

*Reading books.  Venily reads to her all the time, I LOVE it! :)

*Playing on the floor or in her saucer

*Being tickled!  ♥

*Practicing her escape-artist moves, seriously I predict a trip to the ER at least once before she turns one!

*Being thrown up in the air!

Haven's DISLIKES:

* Being tired is really the only thing!  She is SUCH an easy, happy baby! :)

Venily as a Baby

Oh my goodness,I was just looking at all of Venily's Videos from when she was around Haven's age!  Was she really ever that little?  I love them so much!  Haven copies us with blowing and sticking out her tongue too!  I want her to learn how to copy us opening our mouths, that is so funny!  And I can't believe how much Venily learned at 6m, it makes me really excited! :)

Haven will be 5 months tomorrow!

The bunny

Venily was looking out the window across the street and asked, "Mommy, can I hold that bunny?"

Me:  "I don't think that's a bunny, Venily."  (it's not, just something next to the neighbor's bird feeder out in the snow)

Venily:  "Of course that's a bunny, Mommy!"

(a few seconds later)

Venily:  "Do we have any carrots that I can give him?"

:)

Haven got her B's!!

Oh my goodness and she is so fricken cute saying them!!  I will have to get it on video!  She sometimes gets stuck on them like Venily with her stuttering, lol (actually though, I didn't even realize but Venily STOPPED stuttering, lol, I guess it was just a 2 week thing!)!  Oh I could listen to Haven saying "Bbbbbuh, bbbbuh, bbbbbuh!"  all day long! :)

3 more days until Haven turns 5 months...  And my heart just stopped beating just writing that! :(  I will have her 5 month update then!  I can't even tell you how many times I have cried the past 2 weeks about how fast she is growing up!  I will have to write a post about it soon!

I've got a little problem...

Today I was in the shower with Haven in the doorway in her Excersaucer and Venily was playing with her.  Jason came out of our bedroom...

Venily: "Daddy, I've got a little problem over here."

I looked out of the shower and laughed with Jason.

Jason: "What's the problem?"

Venily:  "Haven won't talk to me!"

LOL!

Doctor Visit

We took the girls into the walk-in yesterday because they were still so miserable.  Both girls ended up having left ear infections and upper respiratory infections and are now on antibiotics.  It was Haven's first ever sick visit!  [It's going to be really hard to get Jason to let me take the girls out to their classes and play group now, but I WILL do it!]  Both girls did really well while at the doctor's.  Venily was only a little shy and Haven even got a Nebulizer breathing treatment and stayed her little adorable, happy self! :)  Haven weighed in at 17lbs, 8oz (@4m, 3w, 1d old) and Venily weighed 29.5lbs (@2years, 4months).

Here's a pic of my happy little Haven at the doctor's...

My gosh, I LOVE her!!  I am NOT a religious person at all but I do believe in destiny and in something bigger than ourselves.  And I truly believe that Haven is meant to do huge things with her happy little personality!  She is going to have an impact on thousands of people as she does with everyone near her.  She is my little sunshine and she is going to make so many people so very happy!  I can't wait to see all that she accomplishes, because it's going to be AMAZING! :)

I hope my girls start feeling better soon!  Last night was rough!!  And I'm still really sick as well.

We're sick!

It's the third day in a row that Haven, Venily, and I have been sick!  It's so sad!  The girls are doing really well with it, but it breaks my heart to see them look so miserable and cough so much!  They also both have fevers, runny noses, and are really congested! :(  I've been checking their temps every few hours and giving them Tylenol and Ibuprofen (for Venily when her fever is over 100).  It's bad enough that I don't even want to take care of myself, but I of course have to take care of them first!  We are all staying in our pajamas today! haha.

Last night at like 1:30am Venily came into our room and I took her temp, gave her some more medicine and put her back to bed.  While she was laying in bed I read her an extra story and felt her head and gave her a kiss and she says "I'm still stick (sick) Mommy!  Now leave and go to your bed!"  Haha, she reminded me of that episode of friends where Monica is sick and can't talk right!

Venily is happy that she gets to watch t.v. all day.  She's never done that before.  I usually only let her watch a couple of shows in the morning!  She kept saying "T.V. is for mornings ONLY!" lol  She's still pretty active though, it's hard to keep a 2 year old still for long!  Haven is extra cuddly and sleepy, which is actually kind of sweet, but when I hear her cough or raspy breathing it completely breaks my heart!

Princess Mommy? I like it! :)

The other night at dinner I gave Venily something (I don't remember what) and she says:

"THANK YOU PRINCESS MOMMY!!  You are such a little sweetie!  I love you so much!!"

I wish I had it recorded so I could listen to it every day! :)

Haven is 4.5 months!

Just a few little 4.5 month updates!  I can't believe how fast she is growing up!  It makes me want to cry, I want her stay little forever!

Teething-  She HAS to be teething.  Just has to be!  Whether or not we see teeth soon is another issue.  I hope she holds off though!

She loves to have her right hand in her mouth and her left hand touching the top of her head.  I just adore it!

She is getting really good at pushing herself up during tummy time.  When I see her trying to get up on all fours, my heart literally drops!  She has been doing a "back bend" thing too while on her back.  I now have to strap her in her bouncer or she'll literally back-bend her way out of there!

We are also working on sitting!  She can do it for a few seconds at a time.  She's definitely got the "tripod" sitting thing down and can do it without her hands as well.  She prefers to stand though so the most difficult part is getting her to sit in the first place because she always locks her legs, lol!

She has started scratching this last week.  Not herself, but like the side of her bed or her exersaucer or any other hard surface.  It sounds like a little mouse!  She especially loves to do this in the morning when she wakes up but is just hanging out in her bed!

Haven has had rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, and bananas now!  She LOVES them all!  She grabs my hand and tries to pull the spoon into her mouth faster!  And gets mad when it's all gone! :)  Bananas are her all time favorite, she goes NUTS for them! :)  Like I predicted though, orange spit up is NO fun at all!!

We also moved her up to size 3 diapers about a week ago.  Her weight qualifies her for either size 2 or size 3, but we ran out of size 2's so I tried the 3's and like them WAY better!  Just another indication that she is getting too big too fast!  Venily only ever got up to size 3's by the time she was potty trained!!

Also, she used to roll over her right shoulder to roll over from her stomach to her back, but now she is rolling over her left shoulder as well! :)  She loves to roll over stomach-to-back and back-to-stomach!  She has been rolling and rolling and rolling so much the last couple of days!  She WON'T lay still! :)

Haven continues to be a very laid back, VERY happy, very cuddly little girl!  I love her sooooo much!!!  I'm going to start playing the lottery so I can have another!! :)  I can't describe the absolute feeling of contentment and elation while holding her, especially while she's sleeping!  She's such a little doll!

Teeth Check! :)

None for Haven of course, though she seems a little suspect...

But I just checked Venily's mouth for her 2 year molars (She is currently 2 years, 3 months)!  Bottom right is completely through.  Bottom left and Top left are poking through just a bit.  And no top right yet!

I have made ZERO progress on either of the girls' baby books so I have to write everything here! :)  Tomorrow I'm going to start working on them!

I think the curse has lifted! :)

I haven't written anything in this last week mostly because Haven had been cursed with 7 straight nights of bad sleeping!!  She used to be fighting to stay awake at 7pm and this whole last week she'd start getting REALLY fussy around 7, but if I put her in her bed she'd SCREAM!  And this would go on until 10:00-10:30pm!!!  Not good when I was so used to getting things done around the house and relaxing during this time!  She only wanted to sleep on me and when I'd try to set her in her bed, she'd wake up and cry again!  But she was still taking great naps during the day, no problem, and completely putting herself to sleep then!

And, NO, it wasn't the earrings! :)  She had zero problems all day long and I play with and clean her earrings all the time and they don't bother her at all!

Anyway, last night she went to bed at 8:30pm!!!!  Woke up once at 9:30pm and I thought I was in for another hour+ of crying and fighting sleep, but she just ate and went right back to sleep.  Actually it's 8:50am right now and she's still sleeping! :)

I think she is teething!! :(  Though I thought the same thing with Venily around this time and she had 4 more months before anything poked through!  But Haven BITES ON EVERYTHING!!  All day long!  She bites my fingers, her fingers, her toys, anything she can get her hands on!  And she doesn't just like mouth it, she BITES it, HARD!  Like I feel like she might actually break my bones in my fingers, lol!  I hope she feels better soon!  I am a lot better of a Mommy when I am able to get things done and get my sleep! :)

I will have Haven's 4.5 month update next week!
